Johnny Boos Back to Winning Ways in POWRi RMLS Weekend Double-Header

Belleville, IL. (9/12/2021) Blazing into the weekend with high-flying wing-to-wing double-header racing action, the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints would tackle a duo of the centennial state’s premier racing facilities with stops at Honor Speedway and El Paso County Raceway. After two thrilling feature events, the familiar face of Johnny Boos would rise to the occasion in both night’s notching his seventh and eighth feature wins of the series season.
Honor Speedway would see outstanding action all evening with Johnny Boos and Andy Flood each winning the early heat racing competitions. With side-by-side racing throughout the feature field, drivers would need to be up on the wheel as quick lap times kept the competition close.

Flying to the front, Johnny Boos would not hesitate to take the early advantage en-route to earn his twenty-first POWRi Lightning Sprint victory over the past three seasons. Boos would be followed by Andy Flood finishing runner-up as Dakota Dillon finished third, Josh Flood fourth, as Steve Becker rounded out the top-five finishers at Honor Speedway with the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints.

Then the next night at El Paso County Raceway, the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints would show up in full force offering fans a spectacular sprinting event with Johnny Boos and Josh Flood banking heat race victories in the early competition.

Feature racing would find the pole-sitting Johnny Boos again blanket the field as Boos flexed his driving might by securing his POWRi Lightning Sprint League-leading twenty-second career feature victory. Josh Flood and Frank Martinez would battle wing-to-wing with Flood finishing second, leaving Martinez to cross the finish line third. BJ Sauer would grab hard-charger accolades by passing eight other drivers to finish fourth with talented wheelman Josiah King rounding out the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints top-five finishers at El Paso County Raceway.

Up next for the Lucas Oil POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints will be the final season points event as the series travels to El Paso County Raceway on Saturday, September 25th. Classes scheduled to compete include the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints, ASCS Elite Sprint Cars, NOW600 Micros, RMMRA Midgets, CO Vintage Oval Racers, and UTVs.
