Crewing For White Delivers Valuable Knowledge For Australian Driver Ben Butcher
PERTH, W. Aust. (October 27, 2019) It has been a busy off season for young gun Ben Butcher seeing him over in the US crewing for inspirational young female racer, Harli White across the racing season.
Teaming up with legendary crew chief, Johnny Herrera, the youngster has applied his knowledge on a two month racing tour and brought it back to help him prepare for another racing season here in Australia.
“It’s been a real learning curve for me for sure,” he said. “To see how different it is over there was really amazing and I’ve learned so much.”
Asked if he was looking forward to jumping back in the seat this season in the 410 class, he was adamant about his efforts for the season ahead.
“I’ll be doing a little bit of both this season, 360 and 410s.”
With new ideas on car set ups and more knowledge learned form his wonderful experience, he plans to finish in the top ten at each event contested this season.
With a number of 410 shows throughout the years in the seat, he is looking forward to being a competitive car during the 2019/2020 season. Budget permitting, the team will be at as many races as the can through the year, focusing on the more prestige's races.
“I really think we’re ready to attack the schedule this year with our eyes open,” he said. “ With all the experience I’ve gained, I just want to put it out there on the track now.”
Butcher is coming off two 360 Power Series championship wins in a row and is preparing himself for strong competition across the summer.
With what he has acquired over recent months, fans can expect some real fireworks come race time. His first outing will be the annual Bonza Bradford Memorial at the Perth Motorplex on November 2nd followed by the Auto 1 Sprintcar Grand Slam on November 9th at Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway.
