Big River Steel Big Four Final Round in Chase for the Championship at Knoxville

BATAVIA, Ohio (September 18, 2024) – This Saturday’s 20th running of the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Your Life Iowa will serve as the final bonus round in the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship presented by ARP.

The top four drivers in the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship presented by ARP following Saturday’s A-Main at Knoxville Raceway will make up the Big River Steel Big Four – each earning a cash bonus.

From there, the four championship contenders will battle for the 20th Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Championship at the remaining seven races of the season.

Ricky Thornton Jr., Jonathan Davenport, and Devin Moran have secured their spots in the Big River Steel Big Four – while a tight battle ensues for the fourth and final spot in the Chase for the Championship. Hudson O’Neal and Tim McCreadie are separated by a mere 15 points in the current championship standings.

The driver who earns the most points in the seven races following the Knoxville Late Model Nationals will be crowned the series champion and receive a record $200,000. The second-place finisher will earn $150,000, the third-place finisher will receive $125,000, and the fourth-place finisher will get $100,000 at the year-end awards banquet. In total, a record $1,075,000 will be paid out to the 17 drivers with perfect attendance in 2024.

Additionally, the 2024 O'Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year will be awarded $20,000 at the year-end awards banquet.
