Wallace and Bloomquist on Bad Boy 98 Front Row

LOCUST GROVE, AR (April 15, 2016) - Wendell Wallace and Scott Bloomquist will start on the front row of Saturday Night’s Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway. A total of 45 cars were on hand for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and COMP Cams Super Dirt Series - Presented by Lucas Oil co-sanctioned event. John Blankenship took home the win in 2013; the last running of the event.

Wendell Wallace; a former COMP CAMS Topless 100 winner; blistered the field in heat race number one. Wallace led all 12 laps to earn the pole for Saturday night’s 98-lap main event. Wallace took his Black Diamond Race Car to victory lane over Jeremy Payne, Billy Moyer Jr., and Brandon Sheppard.

In heat race number two; current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series points leader; Jonathan Davenport survived a good battle with Steve Francis in the early laps as he went on to score the win. Davenport will be looking for his first-ever win at Batesville in tomorrow night’s Bad Boy 98. Francis finished second, followed by Billy Moyer and Darrell Lanigan, who charged from his eighth starting spot to grab the final transfer position.

Scott Bloomquist sped off to the win in heat race number three. With the convincing win, Bloomquist earned the outside front row starting spot of the $20,000-to-win main event. Earl Pearson Jr. moved into second on the first lap and stayed there to the end. Jack Sullivan came from fifth to finish third, and Garrett Alberson earned the final transfer spot by finishing in fourth.

The fourth and final heat ended as being the best heat race of the night. Jared Landers and Jimmy Owens; two former COMP Cams Topless 100 winners; battled to the finish. Landers won the heat by a car length and a half. Lap-after-lap, Owens fought to get by Landers, but Landers held his line for the win. Don O’Neal got around Tim McCreadie on the final lap to take third. McCreadie finished fourth, earning the final available transfer position of the night.

In preliminary action, Scott Bloomquist set the overall Miller Welders Fast Time (Group B) amongst the 45 entrants, with a lap of 13.702 seconds. Tomorrow night’s racing schedule will include two 12-Lap B-Mains and the 98-Lap Bad Boy 98 main event.
