When the 2015 edition of Speedweek Northwest fires up on Sunday June 28th at Siskiyou Motor Speedway there will be a young rising star among the field and his name is Dominic Scelzi. He will pilot the LRB Race Products/Triple X Race Co./M&M Structures #35 XXX entry for car owner Dan Monhoff and this is the first campaign that the two have paired up. The Fresno, California native is off to a great start this year and has participated in over twenty events picking up several top five finishes along the way including one main event victory in his family car.

“So far I'm pretty happy with the season,” commented Scelzi, “our program is rolling pretty good in both the family car and Dan's car. We are getting closer and closer to pulling off that first win with Dan.”

Scelzi is the current King of the West points leader and has two career wins with the series including a Stockton Dirt Track triumph on Saturday June 13th. Dominic comes from a decorated Micro Sprint career which includes track championships at both Lemoore Speedway and Visalia's Plaza Park Raceway. He will make his first ever appearance at the five tracks that are apart of the 2015 Speedweek. So what are his expectations for the week?

“I'm really excited to go to all these new tracks and race with new people,” he would continue, “I'd like to finish top five every night or at least in the top ten. I feel very confident in the car that Dan gives me and I can't thank him enough for the opportunity to drive for him.”

The Western Sprint Tour sanctioned Speedweek Northwest begins at Yreka, California's Siskiyou Motor Speedway on Sunday June 28th and will conclude with the $5000.00 to win finale at Cottage Grove Speedway on Saturday July 4th. The best 360 Sprint drivers in the Western United States will race six events in seven nights at some of the best tracks in the country.

In the seventeen years Speedweek Northwest there have been ten different champions. Steve Kent and Roger Crockett are tied with four apiece while Brent Kaeding has two. Seven drivers have won the entire kit and caboodle just once which is a very impressive list of winners. That list includes Brad Furr, Jesse Hockett, Bud Kaeding, Kyle Larson, Shane Stewart, Mitch Olson, and in 2014 Kyle Hirst.

The Western Sprint Tour is the Pacific Northwest region's most premier touring 360 Sprint car series. Visiting some of the nation's best facilities it is a series that offers some of the best racing you can find anywhere around.
