Cottage Grove, Oregon- Last Saturday night Seth Nunes accomplished the largest feat of his young 360 Sprint Car career, he won a main event. The triumph at last week's Southern Oregon Speedway event in White City was a major confidence booster to the team that has been in search of victory lane for the last few years. He will trek north this weekend on Friday April 24th and Saturday the 25th for the Spring Showdown at Cottage Grove Speedway featuring the newly created Western Sprint Tour.

“That win was huge for our team,” commented Nunes, “it's something we've been working towards for quite some time.”

Seth, who is from Medford, has just two starts at two different facilities in local competition in 2015. The aforementioned main event victory on Saturday April 18th at SOS and a fourth place finish at Cottage Grove on the 4th.

“This season has been good so far,” he would continue, “this weekend there will be more cars and more money at stake and should be a lot of fun. I hope we can pick up a few more wins this year.”

Nunes is still in the familiar family funded Napa Auto Parts/Lucas Oil Products/Rodgers Racing Engines/Lonnie's Autobody/Rocket Designs/Central Point Electric #5N KPC. Look for him to be one of the stars of the sport in the near future. This weekend he will take on some of the best drivers in the Western United States as he competes with the WST.

“I'm excited about the new series. In fact we plan on making it to every Western Sprint Tour race in 2015.”

Admission prices for the WST events on Friday and Saturday are Adults $15.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $13.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $8.00, and Children 5 & Under FREE. Both nights the Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45.

Support classes for the Friday night program will be Late Models and Street Stocks while Saturday will feature IMCA Modifieds and the Quality RV Repair Hornets. For the latest news and information regarding the Western Sprint Tour log on to sprints.nwextremeseries.com.
