Wissota Late Model Challenge Series
Rescheduled Central MN Challenge Series Double Up This Weekend
The silver anniversary of the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series rolls on with a pair of events this weekend at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, MN on Saturday night and the series’ only appearance of the season on Sunday night, at the Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, MN, boasting a $5,000 to prize for the winner. Both events are HopeKids Nights.
Ogilvie has hosted ten prior series events dating back to 2010 and has seen Brady Smith, Adam Hensel, Jimmy Mars, and the May winner Pat Doar each visit victory lane twice at the Wagamon family-owned facility. John Kaanta, Don Shaw, and defending series champion Cole Searing, who won the series lone visit in 2022, are also on the win list. Other classes that will be in competition include WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mod Fours, and Hornets.
Granite City has hosted just two prior Challenge Series events with the most recent event being held in 2021 where Jesse Glenz raced to the win and Don Shaw topped the field during the series’ first visit in 2015. Other classes that will be in competition include WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks Mod Fours, and Hornets.
Doar leads the series point standings heading into the weekend by 49 markers over Jake Redetzke. Sam Mars is third, Jeff Massingill is fourth, and John Kaanta rounds out the top five in the current standings.
Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30pm on Saturday night and at 6pm on Sunday. Both events will be livestreamed on WISSOTA.tv for those unable to be at the track in person to enjoy the action.
