Wissota Late Model Challenge Series
Central MN Challenge Series Doubleheader Weekend Postponed
The silver anniversary of the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series events this weekend at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, MN tonight and at the Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, MN on Sunday night have been postponed.
Due to the nearly 100% chance of day and night thunderstorms today and a high percentage of rain and storms forecasted for Sunday as well, series and track officials have decided to push the HopeKids weekend back to Saturday and Sunday, August 26th and 27th. Rescheduling these events will hopefully allow for a much better weather forecast for these special nights.
Granite City plans to hold a regular racing program on Sunday night, weather permitting, featuring WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mod Fours and Hornets with a 6pm start time.
WISSOTA’s Executive Director Rod Lindquist said ‘these HopeKids events are really special and we want to give the organization the best chance of having a great time at the races and with the gloomy and wet forecast for this weekend, we felt that rescheduling the events would be in the best interest of everyone involved.’
We hope to see everyone at the next Challenge Series events, starting on Monday, July 17th at Ogilvie. The week will consist of five straight nights of series action at Ogilvie Monday, followed by the first trip of the season to the Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, MN on Tuesday night before heading to the Halvor Lines Speedway in Proctor, MN on Wednesday night. The tour then heads to the ABC Raceway in Ashland, WI on Thursday night and wraps up at the Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI on Friday night as part of the XR Northern Storm.
