Hicks Exits Early at Ultimate Motorsports Park
North Carolina Super Late Model and Crate Late Model competitor, Benji Hicks has launched a new internet home at www.BenjiHicksRacing.com .

Benji has been busy this season both racing and building his Double Nickel Racecars. Thus far this season, Hicks has collected one win, eight Top-5 finishes, and 11 Top-10 finishes in his familiar No. 55 Late Model.
Benji Hicks was most recently in action on Saturday night, when he trekked to Ultimate Motorsports Park (Elkins, N.C.) for the facilities' grand re-opening.
Thirty-one Ultimate Super Late Model pilots entered the $7,500-to-win program, and after qualifying fourth fastest in his group he locked into the eighth-starting spot for the 40-lap feature.
By the 29th lap he was up to the second position in pursuit of leader, Donald McIntosh. Unfortunately, bad luck bit on lap 32, when he jumped the cushion making hard contact with the wall. The ensuing damage ended his night with a disappointing 18th-place finish.

Hicks is now ready for a tripleheader Labor Day weekend swing, which opens with a pair of Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series events. A $10,000 top prize is on the line on Friday at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway, while Saturday will find the team battling for a $15,000 winner’s check at Rome (Ga.) Speedway. The busy weekend will conclude on Sunday at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) with the $7,500-to-win Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series Hall of Fame race.
