POWRi Lonestar 600's Non Wing
Topless at Bronco Recap
Let me start off by saying thank you to all that came out to Bronco Raceway Park. We had an outstanding turnout. 34 Non Wing 600's, 11 Restrictor's, and 20 Midgets. What an outstanding car count. The cars took out to the track for hot laps and the track was in pristine shape. Restrictors were up first and we had 2 good heat races. Next out was the 600's which showed the crowd 5 solid heats. Then came the midgets. With the track in such good shape they were able to put one 3 amazing heat race runs. In all classes the cars were flying around the top, middle and bottom. Restrictor's came out first for there feature and after the green dropped Cole Tipton would fine himself and another car come together and Cole did a nice backflip to end his night early. Isaiah Garcia would be victorious after leading the race green to checker. The 600's had 2 B-Main. Transferring 4 out of each. This would make the 24 car field complete. Top 6 redrew and we saw Jake Lucas and Isaiah Garcia sitting on the front row. The race drew a couple long cautions which made the race get cut short on laps cause we ran over our 30 min time. Jake Lucas would take the checkers. Up next was the main event for the night and brought out 20 midget for the first and only time to Bronco Raceway Park for 2015. After the redraw Jeb Sessums and Kevin Ramey would be sitting on the front row looking at there chances at winning $2000. The midget roared down the back straight getting ready to take the green flag. As they came out of turn for Jeb would stand on the gas to start the A-main to be beat to turn 1 by Kevin Ramey. The leaders would exit turn 4 an start there journey to complete lap one only to find the red being displayed as Matt Miller and another car would come together and Matt would find himself taking a ride to land back on all fours. Ending his night. While this was going on right in front of him the 69m of Mike Miller would climb the wall and take a violent tumble down the front straight hitting the flagstand and coming to a stop on his side. The medics would respond to him quickly to find him knocked unconscious and bleeding from his helmet. Mike got transported to the hospital. He has since been released from the hospital and resting at home. Mike suffered a broken nose and cuts on both eyelids and several areas of his body bruised up. He will make a full recovery. We got all the midgets fired back up and went back to racing. Kevin would lead the first part of the race only to be overtaken by Anton Hernandez. Anton and Kevin had a great race for several lap with Kevin showing Anton his nose. Kevin tried several times but could never get back around Anton. Anton would take his midget to victory lane winning the Inaugural Midgets Invade Houston $2000 to win race. Congrats to all 3 of our winners and thanks again to all who came out and made this race a great success.
