"CAB Construction Presents the Badger 600 Micros to fly at Sheboygan Co Fairgrounds"
Oshkosh may have the EAA “Fly-In,” but the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds will have its own form of winged entertainment. The duo-winged Micro Sprint 600’s will hit triple digit speeds on the 1/3rd mile clay track on August 1st.
“That’s what you call ‘flying,’ said 30 year race announcer veteran Skip Schulz.
The Badger 600 Micro’s use up to a 636cc methanol-burning motorcycle engine. The front wing brings air up to the top wing and provides the racer with multiple adjustments. The angle and placement of the wings gives the racer more “down-force” which helps the handling of the Micro.
“We have many different adjustments on the Micros. Wings, tire pressure, shocks, and more. All of which can either help you or hurt you on the track,” commented Micro Sprint 600 racer, Andy Rein. Rein of West Bend, is the owner of CAB Construction.
CAB Construction is the sponsor behind the Badger 600 Micro Series. The series stops at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds on Aug 1st and will pay the winning driver $800.00.
“With this purse, we’re expecting up to twenty-five 600 Micro Sprint to compete at Plymouth,” stated Rein.
Fans will see the Micro’s powered by Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, and Kawasaki engines. These performance-oriented motorcycle engines propel the Micro’s that weigh in as little at 775 pounds.
“When you put this kind of horsepower from these engines and make a car as light as this, you’re going to get speeds and action that the fans are going to enjoy,” remarked Rein.
The Badger 600 Micro Series runs at Wilmot Raceway, Sycamore Speedway, and Angell Park Speedway. These fan-favorites run at dirt and asphalt tracks all over the United States.
“The fans love them at Eagle River Speedway and TNT Motor Speedway in Northern Wisconsin,” commented Schulz. Schulz announces at those two dirt tracks.
In addition to the 600 Micro Sprints , the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth will also have the IRA 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars and the PDTR 360 Sprint Cars on Saturday Night, August 1st.
