decision on rain out lineup

As a start up organization with no prior promoting experience, we realized from the beginning we would make some mistakes, but it was our intentions to keep those to a minimum and when we became aware of a mistake to correct them and make certain we do not repeat that mistake again. During the first two nights of racing, we admit we made a few mistakes, but we feel as though they had a minimal impact, if any on the final results of each race. The mistakes have been identified and we have learned from those mistakes so that they do not happen again. As an example, we have obtained Speednet software that will provide the line-ups with inverts for all future races; no more manual lineups! The teams and fans have been great and very understanding as we continue to grow as an organization and our objective continues to be providing excellent racing with integrity.

Ever since May 19th we have been debating about how to best handle the make-up A feature at Butler County Speedway (BCS) that was rained out after completion of 3 laps. We initially discussed this matter with ASCS and felt like we had a resolution to the problem; however, after some urging from the owner of BCS, Brent Pick who wanted everyone to be able to restart the feature, we have performed our due diligence by contacting 4 sanctioning bodies and 2 promoters and explained the scenario of what happened and how it should be best resolved. It seemed like each of the individuals contacted said that this type of scenario happens very infrequently, but each of the individuals (with the exception of one) indicated that all cars that started the A feature should be allowed to race when the race is restarted on June 22nd. Their rationale is since we allow teams to work on their cars during red flags and because we were under a red flag at the time the deluge occurred, we theoretically have had a continuous red flag since May 18th. As a result, all teams that were qualified for the A Feature on May 18th will be able to restart the makeup A Feature this Saturday.

The A feature will resume in the order of scoring after 2 laps with the exception of the cars that were involved in the red flag and the one car that pulled off and was in the work area at the time the red flag came out; these cars will start in the back of the feature when it is restarted.

We appreciate everyone's support and your input. Please feel free to contact us if any questions. Thank you!
