Jeff Griffin, Dan Simpson, Danielle Simpson, 2005 Dirt Cup & more on KWS Tonight

Continuing to gear up for the season finale on October 13 in Hanford “KWS Tonight” will have a fresh show this Thursday evening that will feature interviews with St. Helena, CA’s Jeff Griffin, KWS driver Danielle Simpson, series managing director Dan Simpson and more.

To view the show log onto http://www.kwssprints.com starting at 7pm on Thursday. It will then replay on the homepage to watch at your leisurely pleasure over the next week. Archived shows from this year are available at http://vimeo.com/kingofthewestsprints/videos and new shows can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/user/kingofthewestsprints

Griffin has competed in 11 of the 16 King of the West Sprint Car Series events this season and has been a nice addition to the roster aboard his Layer Cake Wines No. 50m sprint car. Danielle Simpson is in her third season of 410 Sprint Car racing at the helm of the DES Racing No. 6up and we spoke with the Rio Vista driver to get an update on her season. Finally we were able to catch up with Dan Simpson to hear his thoughts on how the 2012 year has gone and what to expect next season.

The “Kaeding Performance Flashback” this week takes a look back at the 2005 “Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup” at the Skagit Speedway in Washington. Current King of the West driver standings leader Jonathan Allard scooped up the $25,000 score during the final night for his first win at the event. Prelim wins were captured by former series champion Ronnie Day & KWS driver Peter Murphy.

On the highlight reel this Thursday we’ll present the June 30 King of the West show at Placerville Speedway, where 13-time state 410 champion & National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Brent Kaeding scored his first series win since 2009. It turned out to be a thrilling event with “BK” battling Kyle Hirst for the win right down to the checkered flag at the high-banked quarter mile bulling.

We will also give information on the annual Octane Fest that is held in Fallon, Nevada, which the King of the West Sprint Car Series will be a part of next season. The motor sports extravaganza features everything a gear head would want to see and takes place in early-June each year. To take a look at what Octane Fest entailed this past year log onto http://www.octanefest.com
