Jim Perricone
Perricone's Race of Life, Beating Cancer!
Racing is not Jim Perricone's primary job but a profession he takes all to serious in competing on the National level. Jim is a General Manager for Marriott Hotels and is what helps support the JBMotorsports 10P sprint car team. Jim started racing with the World of Outlaws on a part time basis back in 2016.
The race on the track is the adrenaline and excitement that keeps Jim competing and racing with the best the World of Outlaw events have to offer. But the biggest race of life was one Jim never expected. In February 2018 Jim was diagnosed with Stage 1 non hodgkins lymphoma, cancer. It was discovered quickly after a routine cyst had to be removed but soon spread rapidly and Jim was admitted to the emergency care center to attack the cancer immediately. The cancer was in the sinus cavity but started spreading to the brain and the prognosis for Jim would be a vegetable in two weeks. Jim was losing mobile movement of limbs, speech and control of his bodily motions. Consensus of all groups was to get Jim to MD Anderson in Houston immediately. MD Anderson took charge of this rare type of cancer and a plan was put in place. The team attacked the cancer very aggressively and after 4 rounds of chemo Jim was clear of cancer as of July 2018, "They saved my Life".
The team and family are happy to say Jim's one year appointment and retesting has come back clear. Jim is officially 1 year free of cancer and happy to be back competing with the World of Outlaws. We thank all our fans, friends and family who support us. My lovely wife for standing by me in the worst times, your an angel.
