Mark McMahill Returns to POWRi IMRA Victory Lane at Spoon River Speedway

Belleville, IL. (9/24/2023) Returning to Spoon River Speedway's fast and furious surfaces for the final event of the 2023 emerging series, the eighth sanctioned seasonal event in the POWRi Illinois Midget Racing Association would find defending series champion Mark McMahill earning the feature win to notch his fifth series victory of the 2023 racing season.

Starting the night of POWRi sanctioning on-track battles, IMRA would find Mark McMahill and Brian Stanfill each notch heat racing wins with Stanfill gaining the pole-starting grid for the feature event.

Green flag feature racing would find Mark McMahill clinching the front of the field from starting second as the checkers waived on the twenty feature laps to earn the Spoon River Speedway feature event return as pole-starter Brian Stanfill placed a solid runner-up.

Staying contiguously close to the leaders, Shane Morgan would finish third as Russell Johnson wheeled his way to place fourth with seventh-starting Keith Wilson hard-charging to round out the top five feature finishers for the POWRi Illinois Midget Racing Association at the series home facility of Spoon River Speedway on Saturday.
