Bobby Layne Victorious at Lake Ozark in POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints

Belleville, IL. (06/21/2021) Visiting Lake Ozark Speedway for the first time in the 2021 racing season, the Lucas Oil POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints would battle wheel-to-wheel for every position for their seventh event. With the mid-season point rapidly approaching, Bobby Layne would grab his second feature victory of the season setting up a close championship battle pushing into the late-season schedule.

Smooth and fast lap-times of Lake Ozark Speedway would see Bobby Layne and Trice Roden each win the early heat races with Mark Billings earning a pole starting position for the feature event. Going green at The Lake with the Lucas Oil POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints would witness Billings gain the early advantage with Layne rapidly running down the leader.

Billings would suffer mechanical issues striking him from the rest of the event as Bobby Layne would shoot to the racing advantage. Leading Layne would proceed to check-out on the field with quick corners and near-perfect running lines notching his series-leading sixteenth feature win over the past six seasons.

Up-and-coming talent Trice Roden would impress all in attendance with an outstanding second-place finish after earning a prior heat race victory and starting fourth in the feature. Chase Fischer would fly through the field in a hard-charging effort running from starting eighth to finish third as Chasity Younger placed fourth. Illinois wheelman Brandon Smith would round out the top-five finishers at Lake Ozark Speedway for the Lucas Oil POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints.
