Dexter Dvergsten Doubles Down in POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Weekend Wins

Belleville, IL. (05/24/2021) Cruising into a multiple-day North Dakota and Minnesota sweep of racing over the weekend, the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints would travel from River Cities Speedway to Buffalo River Speedway as Dexter Dvergsten out-dueled the other drivers claiming both feature victories.

Friday Night’s POWRi MKLS racing action at River Cities Speedway would find Alex Truscinski and Dexter Dvergsten gaining heat race victories with Dvergsten gaining the early feature lead. Dexter would not look back on the way to claiming the first feature win of the weekend. Alan Truscinski would drive from a fourth starting spot to finish in the runner-up position as Alex finished third, Kelsi Pederson fourth, and Cody Swenson rounded out the feature’s top-five finishers.

With Saturday’s scheduled event at Greenbush Race Park canceled due to wet conditions, Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint competitors would shift their momentum to the newly re-opened Buffalo River Speedway as again Dexter Dvergsten would flex his lightning sprint racing muscle by notching his series-leading eleventh feature victory.

Starting the night on the right path would find Jason Berg and Alan Truscinski pick up the heat race victories with Berg earning a pole starting position for the twenty-lap main event. Starting third, Dvergsten would pounce to the lead in the opening stages gaining his second win on the weekend. Matching the podium of the previous event, the father-son duo of Alan and Alex Truscinski would battle throughout the night as Alan edged out Alex for the runner-up spot. Kelsi Pederson would finish fourth with Bryce Haugeberg rounding out the POWRi MKLS feature top-five at Buffalo River Speedway.
