Despite Obstacles, Darland Finishes Strong at Leffler Memorial
Wayne City, IL- Dave Darland of Lincoln, IN piloted the Schuett Racing Inc. #31 Esslinger-powered, Spike Chassis to a 13th place finish after getting caught up in an early race incident in which Tanner Thorson spun, collecting Darland and 5 other cars, bringing out the caution. Due to the incident, Darland would suffer a flat left rear tire and was then brought into the work area where the team would change it to get him back out in time to finish the race. In addition to the flat tire, Darland would also suffer bent front shocks and front radius rods. He would restart in the back and maneuver his way through traffic carrying the damaged race car to finish in the 13th position.
