Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway
28 Races and 42 Total Events Fill 2025 Schedule
Preparations are underway for the 47th consecutive season of racing at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, located in Imperial, PA. It was announced on November 18th that a new wall would be installed around the perimeter of the speedway ahead of the 2nd season under the ownership of Blair Cress Jr. Progress continues with the construction of the wall as we grow closer to the season opening Pot of Gold 2 event on Saturday, March 15th. Tickets are now available for the Pot of Gold 2, while tickets for all other events will be made available in the coming weeks. Weekly racing will continue in 2025, with slight alterations in the interest of conducting more efficient shows. Most shows are now five divisions or less, while very minimal six division shows exist. Select divisions of cars may have two or three Saturday dates where they are not on the schedule. They are as follows:
Hobby Stocks: May 3rd, August 9th, September 20th
Pro Stocks: July 19th, August 30th
Open Four Cylinders: May 17th, August 16th
Young Guns: April 12th, July 12th, September 6th
Returning Events:
Pot Of Gold 2 (March 15): This St. Patrick's Day Weekend returns as we kick off the 2025 racing season for the Western Pennsylvania region. The FAST on Dirt 410 Sprint Cars return and jump start their 2025 season, while the Super Late Models will run unsanctioned alongside the rapidly growing Crown Vic Northeast Series. Bagpipes, Irish food, Wheelbarrow races, and more are on tap for the daytime show, with pits opening at 12pm and warmups beginning at 3pm.
Western PA Sprint Speedweek (Thursday, May 29): This speedweek has grown exponentially since its rebirth in 2021. A record breaking 39 cars appeared last season, with teams from five different states and four different countries appearing. Thursday night’s event will produce the fastest speeds that fans will experience throughout the entirety of the 5 night campaign throughout Western PA.
Ed Laboon Memorial (June 7): Vince Laboon had a vision to honor his father with a one-off event. 14 years later, the event stands as one of the most prestigious events for not only PPMS, but all Pro Stock teams throughout the region. Only one driver will be able to hoist the championship title belt over their head in victory lane, a goal shared by many of the region’s best teams.
Monsters N Megas Monster Truck Experience (June 21 & 22): Last year brought carnage, stunts, mayhem and more! Pittsburgh’s largest Monster Truck Experience returns in 2025, bringing six monster trucks and six mega trucks for a 12 truck show! The pre-race pit party, touch a truck, and monster truck ride along make this show an undeniably good time for fans of all ages!
Jook George Steel City Classic (July 26): What else can we say? Cleetus Motorsports and the George family do an exceptional job each year putting on one of the most prolific events on our calendar. The RUSH Late Model Touring Series will bring cars from multiple states and even Canada to compete in this 36th annual event. The atmosphere is like no other with this event. Be sure to mark it on your calendar.
Heat Wave 25 (August 16): The Super Late Models will once again have the opportunity to tune up for the Pittsburgher 100 weekend a little over one month before the event. Drivers will compete in an unsanctioned 25 lap feature event.
Pittsburgher 100 Weekend (Thursday, October 2 - Saturday, October 4): The staple event of the speedway returns in 2025, featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Although this event returns for two nights of racing, things will truly kick off on Thursday, October 2nd with the Pittsburgher Karting Clash at Three Rivers Karting and Entertainment Park. Fans will again have the opportunity to rub elbows with some of the stars featured in the Pittsburgher 100 Weekend. Racing gets underway on Friday, October 3rd, with a complete program headlined by a $10,000 to win - 30 lap Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature event. The RUSH Late Model Touring Series Bill Hendren Memorial will return as well, with drivers competing in a $4,000 to win - 30 lap feature event. The 4th Annual Bob Walters Memorial will capitalize the Friday night portion of the show, with Penn Ohio Pro Stock competitors racing for a minimum of $1,042 to win. On Saturday, the Lucas Oil Late Models will compete in a crown jewel $50,000 to win - 70 lap Pittsburgher, while the RUSH Late Model Series rounds out the weekend with the $10,000 to win - 40 lap Bill Hendren Memorial.
New Events & Divisions:
Race to Valentine’s Day Bingo (February 1): Join us at the Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department for a racing & Valentine’s themed bingo! All food and drinks will be included with the ticket. Tickets will be on sale soon!
Free Grandstand Night (June 28): Yep. You read it right. Bring one and bring all for a free admission night at the speedway!
Ladies Night (May 10): In honor of Mother’s Day, all women receive free grandstand admission at the speedway!
School’s Out Night (May 24): Students can celebrate the start of summer by wearing their school apparel and earning free grandstand admission in return!
The Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprint Cars will return in 2025 for the first time since 2017. The tour will kick off their 2025 season with PPMS on Saturday, April 12th for an Action Event. They will return for the second and final time on Thursday, May 29th with Western PA Sprint Speedweek.
Though the Big Block Modifieds were scheduled in 2024, the event was ultimately canceled due to inclement weather. The BRP Modified tour will return to Dirt’s Monster Half Mile for the first time in nearly a decade!
