First impressions can be long-lasting, and Gio Scelzi left a strong one with the Sprint Invaders at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. The fifteen-year-old driver won his heat, the Dash and the 25-lap main event aboard the BDS Motorsports EAGLE in a night that he saw the 3/8-mile oval for the first time. “This place is amazing,” said Scelzi in Victory Lane. “The car was good. Bryan Sunby and this whole team gives me a good car. It was good to get a win for them.” Scelzi, the current 410 King of the West points leader is slated to pilot the BDS #1 more to finish this season.

The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints returned to the Brockville Ontario Speedway for the first time since 2008 with a familiar face finding his way to victory lane. Steve Poirier dominated the 25-lap event in his EAGLE to pick up his second win of 2017 in the Tour of Canada feature. “My car was working good. Thanks to Kevin Loveys, he gave me a good car tonight and it’s good to be in victory lane here.”

12 is bound to be a lucky number for Jason Martin. Not a car number, not a pill draw, but a twelfth place starting position to win another Racesaver 305 division feature at Eagle Raceway. With a heavy rubber down track condition, Jason was able to maneuver to the lead steering his EAGLE car. A great precursor for the Racesaver Nationals only a week away.

Mike Mueller continues to be the one to beat each time the UMSS Traditional non-winged Sprint Cars visit Granite City Speedway. Mueller turned in a stellar run in his EAGLE as he led every lap of the 25 lap race on his way to taking the win. This was the fifth consecutive UMSS Traditional Sprint Car Feature at Granite City Speedway that ran without a caution. “It was awesome, the track was awesome, the car was awesome,” said a pumped up Mueller in the pits afterward. With four wins in the last five races at Granite City Speedway, Mueller has been the hot hand when he comes to Sauk Rapids. “We never thought we’d be in this situation and we’re going to take full advantage of it and we’ve been bad fast and I can’t complain.”
