PIRTEK UMSS WING HISTORY TO BE MADE AT CLS ON MAY 18

Harris, Mn., May 17 ----- Changes in life as in racing are inevitable. Last August, the PIRTEK Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) announced a change to their wing program to make racing a PIRTEK UMSS wing sprint car more sustainable. Fast forward to May 18th at Cedar Lake Speedway and history will be made as the "new look" PIRTEK UMSS wing cars will take to the track for their first ever event.

Based off the highly successful traditional engine program, the wings will add more horse power and speed with the addition of a four barrel carburetor and, of course, the top and front wings. In addition, there will be a wing angle rule which will "free up" the car to allow for more side-by-side racing. "The new PIRTEK UMSS wing rules will even the playing field so that the smaller budget teams will be able to compete with the teams with bigger budgets" stated PIRTEK UMSS Race Director Shaun Cimfl. "The wing angle rule will put the driver back into the equation."

The new wing rules will also allow a team to participate in both the wing and the traditional programs during the same night when both are scheduled. "I believe this is the first time in sprint car racing history that a team can take the same car and same engine and race and be competitive in two different classes on the same night" exclaimed PIRTEK UMSS President Ron Bernhagen. "Now teams can race in two features and be paid twice in the same night if they choose to do so."

Catch all the drama and action tomorrow night at Cedar Lake Speedway!
