Inside Line Promotions – JIM FALLS, Wis. (May 30, 2018) – Ryan Bowers logged a great weekend by earning two second-place finishes with the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series.
“Friday night got rained out at Jackson Motorplex so that was a bummer,” he said. “But we’ll travel back to Jackson, Minn., this Friday to make it up. We’re looking forward to running there and checking out all the new changes they’ve made.”
Bowers and the Kouba Racing team headed to Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, Wis., on Saturday. He started third in a heat race and finished second. After lining up fifth in the feature, Bowers quickly made his way to second, but an opportunity to take the lead never appeared and he finished as the runner up.
“I was a little disappointed with Saturday,” he said. “I felt like we kind of let one go there. I guess if you can run second on a bad night, you’re running pretty well. We just missed the setup a little bit.”
Bowers raced at Eagle Valley Speedway on Sunday and he produced another great finish. He started and finished third in a heat race before he once again lined up fifth for the A Main.
“I made my way up to third right away, but it took me a while to get the pass on second,” he said. “By that point, the leader was long gone and we came home in second place.”
The team will regroup for this weekend and head to Jackson Motorplex on Friday for a $3,000-to-win show sanctioned by the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints, Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series. The weekend will conclude on Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., with the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series.
