Cottage Grove, Oregon- After a great night of racing last weekend the Cottage Grove Speedway is back in action this Saturday June 8th. The ¼-mile clay oval will have four classes of action for what should be another great installment to the 2013 season. Classes in competition will include the Northwest Wingless Tour, Dwarf Cars, Late Models, and Hornets.

“Saturday is going to be good show,” said Heather Boyce, General Manager of the Cottage Grove Speedway, “we hope everyone can make it out for some great family fun at this great facility.”

The Northwest Wingless Tour has been to CGS twice this year and has produced two different winners. Kyle Miller and Kyle Mehner have been triumphant so far when the NWWT have been to “The Grove”. The last two races with the series have occurred at the Sunset Speedway Park in Banks with Sterling Kane and Mitch Hoffses earning victories up there.

In Late Model competition Collen Winebarger has won the last two races. Paul Culp is the only other winner so far in the division. Two weeks ago was the first Dwarf Car show of the year with Kelly Gutches earning the triumph despite a downpour during the closing laps of the feature.

The Hornets are coming off of a non-point event last week which saw young Evan Britton capture the win. In the five point races that have been completed Joe Maricle and Kolby Clay each have two wins while Jim Simmons has just one.

Tickets for the races on Saturday are $12.00 for Adults, Senior/Military/Junior (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children under the age of five are FREE. A Family Pass is offered for $30.00 which includes two Adults and up to four Youths. Pit gates open at 2:00 PM, front gates 4:00, time trials 5:30, and racing stats around 6:45. Remember whether you are a veteran or a current member of the United States military you will receive half off of your ticket purchase.

The Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted fast and exciting action as far back as 1956. Since then the ¼-mile banked oval has been regarded as a place where fast times are set and plenty of side-by-side racing occurs. Regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hornets from the months of April till October every Saturday night.
