PORT COLBORNE, Ont. (September 30, 2023) – Ryan Turner added to his illustrious Sprint Car resume on Saturday night when he took the Southern Ontario Sprints win at Humberstone Speedway.
Dylan Westbrook led most of the 25 lap A-Main as he looked to sweep The Fall Classic weekend at Humberstone, but Turner stalked Westbrook all race and made his move in turns three and four with the white flag in sight. The win was Turner's first Sprint Car triumph at Humberstone, and worth $3,000 as the finale of the Nitro 54 Variety Super Series.
Westbrook settled for the runner-up spot, limiting Turner from gaining very much in the championship chase. Matt Farnham, DJ Christie, and Liam Martin rounded out the top five, while Holly Porter, Shone Evans, Aaron Turkey, Darren Dryden, and Dale Curran scored top ten finishes.
Westbrook took the $100 Ackland Insurance Quick Time Award for a second consecutive night, while Allan Downey earned the $150 Trailer Pros Canada Hard Charger driving Jamie Turner's No. 11 car.
The Fall Nationals at Brockville Ontario Speedway will finish the 2023 SOS season on Saturday, October 14. Visit www.bockvillespeedway.com for more information.
