CORY TURNER WINS GARY CUNNINGHAM MEMORIAL AT MERRITTVILLE

THOROLD, Ont. (June 25, 2022) – A Turner was in victory lane after a Southern Ontario Sprints A-Main again on Saturday night, but this time it was Cory Turner who took the win in the Gary Cunningham Memorial at Merrittville Speedway.

Cory Turner and Mitch Brown started on the front row for the 25 lap A-Main, but the race was red flagged before the first lap was complete when Shawn Sliter flipped in turn two. Sliter escaped without major injury and the race restarted with Turner taking the lead.

A late restart placed Ryan Turner behind Cory for a sibling battle, but Ryan Susice broke up the party in the Phillips No. 21 by taking the second spot. Cory stayed ahead to lead all 25 laps and take the victory over Susice, Ryan Turner, and Liam Martin, while Travis Cunningham scored a top five in the race named for his late father. Heat race wins went to Mitch Brown, Liam Martin, and Ryan Turner.
