RYAN TURNER VICTORIOUS AT MERRITTVILLE ON VICTORIA DAY

THOROLD, Ont. (May 23, 2022) – Ryan Turner bested his brother Cory to take the Southern Ontario Sprints feature win on Monday night at Merrittville Speedway.

Shone Evans and Jacob Dykstra made up the front row for Merrittville's annual Victoria Day race and Evans led the first lap before Dykstra moved ahead. Ryan Turner quickly took second from Evans and went after Dykstra, passing him for the lead on lap six.

Cory Turner and Jim Huppunen had advanced to second and third when a yellow flag bunched the field with five laps to go. Cory used the high groove to move ahead of Ryan and lead lap 23, but Ryan prevailed on the bottom and took the win.

Cory Turner, Jim Huppunen, Travis Cunningham, and row ten starter Liam Martin made up the remainder of the top five. Shone Evans, Mitch Brown, and Todd Hoddick won heat races, while Jamie Turner won the Westside Automotive Dash for Cash.
