2017 SEASON STARTS SATURDAY!

The Southern Ontario Sprints are set to kick off the 2017 season this Victoria Day long weekend at Brighton Speedway Saturday, May 20th as the first of 6 events during Brighton's 50th anniversary season.

When the green flag flies it will start the race to the 2017 championship where teams will be looking to beat reigning champion Dylan Westbrook for the longest running sprint car series title in Canada, the Southern Ontario Sprints.

The action should be intense around the 1/3mile clay speedway as the Southern Ontario Sprints will battle it out for an increased top prize of $1,200 to win each night

The SOS tour has raced at Brighton 102 times since 1997, with Rick Wilson’s 22 wins topping the all-time list at the Northumberland County track. Mitch Brown scored 2 Brighton wins last season, while 2016 SOS Champion Dylan Westbrook took home the remaining 4 victories at Brighton in 2016.

Mitch Brown claimed the first race of the season the last two years in a row and will look to make it a third straight this Saturday night.

NOTES FOR THE RACE TEAMS:

Drivers and crew are reminded to download and fill out the 2017 membership form in advance for faster registration. http://www.southernontariosprints.ca/rules
Parents of minors can also download and fill out the Waivers for pit entry at participating tracks ahead of time to save waiting in the line up (Check track websites for details)
Reminder, scoring transponders and raceiver radios are mandatory for all cars.
MC3 Right Rear spec tires are available at Grisdale Racing Products. TIRES AND FUEL are NOT available at the track and teams must come prepared to race.
Helmets must be worn at all times when on ATV's at Brighton Speedway.
