SOS TOUR HEADS FOR SOUTH BUXTON & HUMBERSTONE

By Tommy Goudge (June 3, 2016) - London, Ontario - The 21st season of Southern Ontario Sprints series racing continues this weekend when the tour heads to South Buxton Raceway and Humberstone Speedway for the second and third rounds of the 2016 calendar.

Mitch Brown leads the SOS championship points standings heading into this weekend's events by virtue of his feature win in the season opener at Brighton Speedway on May 21. Dain Naida, Rick Wilson, Glenn Styres, and Ryan Turner make up the remainder of the top five. Dylan Westbrook is 10th overall in the standings, and leads the Rookie of the Year standings by 4 points over Jake Brown.

The Saturday, June 4 event is the first of three scheduled SOS races at South Buxton Raceway in 2016. The SOS tour has raced at South Buxton 34 times since the tour's first ever event in 1996, with Mike Ling's 5 wins topping the all-time list at the unique 1/3 mile D-shaped track. Chris Jones and Mitch Brown scored South Buxton SOS wins in 2015.

The tour will head east on Sunday, June 5 when Zanchin Truck & Trailer presents the first of two scheduled SOS events at Humberstone Speedway in 2016. The SOS tour has raced at Humberstone 12 times since 2002, with Glenn Styres' 3 wins topping the all-time list at the 1/3 mile oval track. Parker Price-Miller and Glenn Styres scored Humberstone SOS wins in 2015.
