(DUNDEE, NY) – For the first time in 6 years the Super Gen Products CRSA Sprints make a trip to wine country in Dundee, NY to visit Tyler Siri’s Outlaw Speedway.

When it comes to CRSA all-time history Outlaw Speedway sits at 4 previous events being held going back as far as March of 2012. The most recent event was held on July 30, 2016 and it was “The Motorized Madman” Darryl Ruggles who logged the victory.

It wasn’t the first time Ruggles scored a victory at Outlaw, he also won the CRSA Sprints event on May 2, 2014. He’s also won many weekly events at Outlaw as the division has been a weekly class on and off over the years. For Ruggles though, 2022 brings a different challenge as Outlaw nowadays has a little different configuration with increased banking.

“Outlaw has changed but I think it’s changed for the better,” said Ruggles earlier this week.

“I think the banking is going to lend itself to great racing for the 305’s and it should be pretty fast. These cars are all about momentum.”

Another driver who has experience at Outlaw Speedway has experience at this track- just not in a 305 Sprint Car. Trevor Years, enjoying his second full season on tour noted experience racing 270cc Micro Sprint at Outlaw way back during the Obama administration.

“With the way they have integrated the gradual increase in the degree of banking from bottom to top it allows for more even lanes of traffic and can produce incredible side by side racing all around the track,” noted Years.

“Stagger is going to be a huge factor Friday night as that track likes quite a bit (of stagger). With the shortage of tires being a common problem across the entire racing community, teams are going to have to be strategic about their tire choice.”

All of the strategy set aside, Years can’t wait to put the hammer down at the Yates County speedplant.

“I am excited to put some laps down there as I’ve always enjoyed the smaller, non-half-mile tracks where the action is a lot quicker and the drivers have to be more “elbows up.”

Pit gates will be opening at 5:00PM. A driver’s meeting will take place at 6:25PM with Heat in Engines and Hot Laps rolling off at 6:45PM. Race time is 7:30PM. Stay tuned to the My Race Pass app and CRSA Sprints social media for updates from the track.
