Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Make First Visit Ever to Shepp’s Speedway Friday!
(Bill W) April 21, 2010 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will make their maiden visit to Shepp’s Speedway near Alexander, Illinois this Friday night! The bullring promises to display wheel to wheel action, with both the Sprint Invaders and the POWRi midgets and 600cc micro-sprints also on the card forming an open-wheel tripleheader!
Sikeston, Missouri’s Jerrod Hull went back into a tie atop the all-time Sprint Invaders winners’ list with an impressive victory last Saturday night at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. The win was the thirteenth in his career with the series and tied him on the list with “Showtime” Kaley Gharst. Hull won twice in 410 competition at Shepp’s Speedway in 2009.
Thirty cars were in attendance for the series’ opener on Saturday. Hull was followed to the line by “Flyin’” Ryan Jamison, Jim Moughan Jr., Gharst and Knoxville’s Jon Agan. Jim Moughan was runner-up to Hull at the two 410 races at Shepp’s Speedway in 2009. Two-time and defending Sprint Invaders champion, “Lil’ Dude” Bobby Mincer, had to go through the B main, but surged to a sixth place finish in the main event.
