Brown led Rosenboom, Wolfgang, Bakker and Lasoski back to green. While Brown shot around the high side of the track, Wolfgang was finding some rubber through the middle, and gained on the leader. On lap five, he shot under him, and a lap was in the books when Heskin spun on the backstretch. Now Wolfgang led Brown, Rosenboom, Bakker and Lasoski. Wolfgang stretched his lead on the restart until there were 10 laps in, and Bickett stopped in turn four. Lasoski had advanced to third, ahead of Rosenboom and Bickett. On the restart, Lasoski shot under Brown for second. Brown and Rosenboom made contact, flattening Brown’s left rear tire. With an open track in front, Wolfgang continued to lead. With five laps to go, he tried to put McCarl a lap down and slid high in one and two. Lasoski pounced on the opportunity to take the lead. A lap later, he and the lapped car of McCarl made contact and spun. Wolfgang inherited the lead while a fuel stop was called, and pulled away for the popular win. Bakker gained second from Rosenboom, while Grosz (from 14th) and Droud rouned out the top five. Grossenbacher was the hard-charger.
