Balog Scores a Top Five and Multiple Top Ten Finishes in All Star Circuit of Champions Tri-State Swing

Hartland, Wisconsin (August 29th, 2022) – The Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 had a five-day swing across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, August 24-28th. The series visited famed Posse country tracks throughout the week which is always an exciting and challenging territory to race in.

Consistency was key for Balog during the five-night stretch which resulted in one top Five finish and 4 Top Ten finishes. Balog kicked off the week earning the Hercules Tire Hard Charger at Bloomsburg Fair Raceway with a 15th to 9th place run in the Feature. The North Pole Nightmare continued his momentum the following night at Bridgeport Speedway with an even greater charge in the feature going from the 19th starting position to securing another 9th place finish.

The highlight of Balog’s week capped off on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway for the Jack Gunn Memorial which featured two Twin 20 lap Features. Balog kicked off the night picking up a heat race win, which earned the Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup 17B a spot in the Dash. The North Pole Nightmare went on to place 6th in the first of two 20 lap Features. Bill drew the Pole of the second 20 lap feature which followed immediately after. Bill brought home a solid 5th place finish in the second Twin 20 A Feature.

“It was nice to have two consistent finishes at the Grove. Ideally we would have liked to finish in a higher position, but we seem to be on the right track with a few issues that we’ve been having.” said Balog, driver of the 17B.

The series moved to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night for the Kramer Klash. Bill was unfortunately involved in a crash during the heat race while running in the 2nd position which resulted in a DNF and significant damage to the 17B. The crew worked quickly to pull down the back up car and get it ready for Bill to start the 30-lap feature, using a provisional. Bill rallied to a 15th place finish after starting in the 26th spot.

“Thank you to Snow Racing, TJ Stutts (Stutts Racing), Mark Coldren, and Jim Travis for helping us get our spare car ready for the feature.” said Balog driver of the Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup, CK Contractors LLC, Buesser Concrete, Howard Law, Wayne Corini, CPA, Capitol Senior Services LLC, Rocky Rococo's Pizza, Turn It Up Media sprint car team.

The final stretch of the Tri-State swing concluded on Sunday at Bedford Speedway. Bill and the team were determined to bounce back from their misfortune the night prior. Bill qualified 6th overall which earned him the Pole of Heat Race #3. Bill went on to pick up a Heat Race win and ultimately drew the Pole of the 6 lap Dash! Bill placed 2nd in the Dash which secured him a front row starting position for the 30-lap feature on the big half mile track. Bill ultimately ended up with a 7th place finish to cap off the long week. “We’ve been enjoying racing in Pennsylvania and look forward to having a solid weekend at Sharon Speedway,” said Balog.

Upcoming Racing Schedule
Following the Tri-State swing, the All Star Circuit of Champions will head back to Ohio for the Sharon Nationals at Sharon Speedway featuring the Lou Blaney Memorial on September 2nd and 3rd.
