39th 4-Crown Nationals Rescheduled to September 2021
ROSSBURG, Ohio (August 24, 2020) – Eldora Speedway officials have announced the 39th 4-Crown Nationals has been rescheduled to late September 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.
On August 19, as part of Governor Mike DeWine and the State of Ohio’s continued efforts to fight the spread of the coronavirus, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) issued the “Director’s Order that Provides Mandatory Requirements for Youth, Collegiate, Amateur, Club and Professional Sports.” The robust mandate is the first to address spectators at grandstand events – including speedways – since the state of emergency was declared in March.
The 4-Crown Nationals Weekend is anchored by the United States Auto Club and the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series, AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship, and Silver Crown Champ Car divisions. In recent years, the 4-Crown has enjoyed a renaissance and evolved into a homecoming for the nation’s premier open wheel racing series. Beginning with a new Friday night event for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars (WoO) in 2008, this was followed by the addition of Ollies Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions by Mobil 1 Sprint Cars in 2016 which restored the Saturday night program to ‘four crowns.’ The event also celebrates the sport’s past with appearances by historic and vintage cars, and the sport’s future with three days of racing for over 250 USAC .25 Midget racers at “Little Eldora.”
After thoroughly assessing ODH’s requirements for attendees, participants, spectators, and venues, Eldora and series officials made the decision to reschedule the event for 2021.
Fans who purchased reserved seats, general admission tickets and campsites for the 39th 4-Crown should retain their tickets, camping credentials and receipts at this time. Information, including frequently asked questions and answers, has been posted at https://www.eldoraspeedway.com/4crown-covid/. Officials will communicate updated event information direct to patron accounts as it becomes available, on www.EldoraSpeedway.com and via Eldora’s official social channels.
Upcoming non-spectator events at Eldora include the “$50,000-to-win Intercontinental Classic” for the superstars of Dirt Late Model racing on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, September 10-11-12, and the “$50,000-to-win Governors Reign” for the All Star Circuit of Champions and sprint car racing’s elite, on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 22 and 23.
Both events can be seen live on Eldora’s official livestream partner, FloRacing and via the FloSports app. In addition to all of FloRacing’s motorsports offerings, subscribers also receive complete access to the entire FloSports network of verticals ranging from cycling, wrestling, football, baseball, softball, grappling and more. Best of all, subscribers can watch the races across all screens by downloading the FloSports app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Chromecast.
FloRacing is once again pulling out all the stops for the production of the events. Fans watching at home or from their favorite device will hear the action called by all of the voices they are accustomed to hearing on Eldora’s PA speakers. A large-scale event production, complete with multiple-camera angles, instant replays and live scoring is planned as Eldora and FloRacing endeavor to give fans watching at home an experience similar to what they see on Eldora’s giant turn two video board.
Eldora officials continue to use their “When We Know, You’ll Know” policy to share event-related information with fans as soon as possible. Updates will be posted on www.EldoraSpeedway.com, directly to the patron accounts of fans who have purchased ticket and campsites, the Eldora Speedway email newsletter, and to the official Eldora Speedway accounts on social channels Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
