Reutzel Ventures into Posse Territory for First Time

Lonnie Wheatley, CLUTE, Texas (September 8, 2017) – This weekend will be a first for Aaron Reutzel and the Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution/BC Fundz No. 87 Triple-X Sprint Car team as the Clute, TX, racer takes to Pennsylvania Posse territory for the first time in his career.

And for good reason, with a $50,000 winner’s share up for grabs in Saturday’s Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway following a $5,000-to-win tilt on Friday night. Both events are sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions.

“I’m looking forward to it, the tracks there always look to be really racy,” Reutzel said of the upcoming weekend. “It’s going to be an experience for sure.”

Reutzel and the Wren Motorsports/Momentum Racing Suspensions team are looking to put the last weekend’s action at the Jackson Motorplex in the past as quickly as possible.

“It was the worst weekend that we have had in a long time,” Reutzel says.

Friday’s portion started out strong with a good heat race run and then redrawing the number two pill to start outside the front row of the feature. It was one that wasn’t meant to be for the Nattress Construction/Wings Unlimited team though, as rain washed out the night’s feature event.

Saturday brought double duty for Reutzel and the Wright Way Logistics/Walker Performance team.

The 410-ci effort was essentially stopped short before it got started. “We broke a shifter cable in qualifying,” Reutzel says of the lap that put them at the tail of the field. “That basically put us in start-and-park mode the rest of the night.”

The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour 360-ci portion of the night wasn’t much better, with Reutzel mired in the back of a tough heat. “We had a loaded heat and just couldn’t really go anywhere,” Reutzel recalls.

Reutzel was on the move in the “B” Main, leading the way until mechanical problems brought an early end to a long night.

With a half dozen wins already to his credit in 2017, the past ASCS National champion now looks for his first taste of Posse success at this weekend’s Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway.

2017 Quick Stats: 62 races, 6 wins, 23 top-fives, 35 top-tens.

Up Next: All Star Circuit of Champions at Port Royal (PA) Speedway’s Tuscarora 50 on Friday and Saturday.
