Inside Line Promotions – WEST LEBANON, N.Y. (Aug. 23, 2016) – Dale Blaney put together an efficient weekend with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions during a four-race swing in the East.

“That area of the country is pretty tough to deal with,” he said. “Grandview Speedway had five or six of the best Pennsylvania guys that are running now. Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway are extremely tough places to go to. I feel like we ran as well as we could have hoped. If we could have finished out with a second last night it would have been a great weekend.”

The action began last Thursday at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., where Blaney led the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team to quick time during qualifying. Blaney then placed second in both a heat race and the dash to start the main event on the outside of the front row.

“Lucas (Wolfe) is really good at Grandview,” he said. “I followed him around for a while until we got to traffic. I could go to the middle and the bottom. Traffic worked my way and we took the lead. Being in second and getting to traffic is good. Then we had a really good race with Stevie (Smith) in the middle portion. He got by me and I got back by him. I was pretty excited to win that one. I felt like that was a really good win.”

Blaney captured his eighth win of the season and his first career at Grandview Speedway to open the busy weekend on the right foot.

Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., hosted an event on Friday. Blaney timed in fifth quickest during qualifying before he finished second in a heat race and sixth in the dash.

“I had a good dash starting spot and gave up a couple of spots,” he said. “We made some changes for the A Main. I felt like I had a top-five car. I just didn’t make good laps in the middle portion of it and got us behind. There wasn’t a whole lot of moving. I think the first seven starters finished in the first seven spots.”

Blaney capped the night with a seventh-place result.

The team ventured to Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., on Saturday. Blaney again set quick time during qualifying before advancing to a second-place result in a heat race and a third-place finish in the dash.

“We were good every time we hit the track,” he said. “(In the main event) I just didn’t get as good of a start as I wanted to. I fell back to fourth. I was as good as (Alan) Krimes, (Danny) Dietrich and Lucas (Wolfe) for a little bit. I just could not get maneuverable where I wanted to and do anything with them. To come out of there with a fourth was good though.”

Blaney’s fourth-place finish propelled him back into the lead in the All Star championship standings entering the weekend’s final race at Lebanon Valley Speedway, where action was postponed a day because of poor weather.

Blaney was a frontrunner once racing got underway on Monday. He qualified second quickest, ended third in a heat race and won the dash to give him the pole position for the main event.

“I felt like Sammy (Swindell) and I were the best two cars all night,” he said. “We were by far the two best cars and I think it showed once we got to racing. After the first couple of laps we were nose to tail the whole time. We were rolling through traffic and where he went I went. We had 10 laps to go when I got a flat tire.”

Blaney was running second when his right rear tire went flat just past the halfway point. He didn’t have any time in the work area and was unable to resume action. Blaney was credited with a 12th-place result, which puts him 14 points behind the leader in the All Star championship standings entering races this Saturday at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Ind., and Sunday at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio.
