Thiel gears up for two-day ASCS Elite visit to Rocket Raceway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (October 14, 2024) - The “Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Team 73 will make the most of their late season southern swing, continuing their 2024 campaign with the two-day Rocket Launcher 30 at Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, October 18-19. The two-day program, concluding the track’s 2024 season, will feature the ASCS Elite Outlaw Sprint Cars.

Team 73, fresh off of a full Missouri and Texas stretch with High Limit Racing, all of which highlighted with a 15th-place outcome at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 12, will roll into Rocket Raceway Park with a full head of steam, securing the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series championship with a win a Plymouth Dirt Track before making the venture south.

As noted, Team 73’s most recent starts were contested at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, October 11-12. With Scotty Thiel having prior obligations, Trey Starks - a Washington native who spent much of the 2024 season competing at Skagit Speedway - filled the seat in the High Limit Racing season finale; he was scored 26th and the aforementioned 15th.

“Hats off to Trey Starks for stepping in and filling the seat for us this weekend. I had other obligations, so we were grateful to have him come down and allow us to continue our southern swing,” Scotty Thiel, ace of the Gibbsville Cheese, Professional Plating Inc, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Total Restoration Services, Scott Thiel Builders, Lift Pro, Schmidts Landscaping, Complete Water, Iron Buffalo Saloon, GRP Motorsports, Lake Home Retreats, Elliott Family, Diamond Pools, No. 73 sprint car, said. “We’re going to make the most of this trip and continue our Texas invasion with a two-day visit to Rocket Raceway. This will give us a chance to keep our momentum up before we rejoin the Outlaws next weekend at Riverside.”

Tentatively, Scotty Thiel and Team 73 will continue their 2024 campaign with a multi-day visit to Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, on October 18-19. The two-day Rocket Launcher 30 will feature the ASCS Elite Outlaw Sprint Cars.
