2020 Shaping Up to Be A Great Year
The Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will continue to make major announcements regarding 2020 and beyond very soon. While the Chili Bowl produced our big Sage Fruit / HRP rookie program, we can "promise" some more big news out of Florida in the next week, or two. It's hard to believe that the national 2020 sprint car season starts next week in Florida, and it will be from Florida where the next of at least 2 big IRA announcements will be made. 2020 will unquestionably be the highest profile year in IRA's long history. This is exciting for our teams, fans, and sponsors.
In schedule news, we have added Sunday April 26th at Dodge County for the inaugural Fuzzy Fassbender Memorial. The reason for the Sunday choice is that it allows an earlier start time compared to a Friday, and with potential cool April temperatures, we can start a little earlier. Also, it's like the "make up" date for last September's Fassbender rain-out at Dodge Co. In talking with the family, waiting til September again, and potentially having the same wet outcome, could push this event back yet another year. Trying in April gives us a better shot at getting the show completed in 2020, paying the deserved tribute to the southeast Wisconsin racing legend. We will no longer pursue an April 25th date anywhere, however we do want to tell teams that we may still fill Aug 29th or Sept 4th yet, and if we don't we may utilize one or both those dates as potential rain dates for events lost previously throughout the season.
If teams planning on running a minimum of 80% of the 2020 schedule, have news they would like us to share regarding their plans, paint schemes, etc, we will be glad to share that news on our Facebook page too. Send it to us, and we'll make it happen.
Same holds true for our Wisconsin wingLESS Series competitors for your respective Facebook page. IRA Lightning Sprint teams, we are working on a new MyRacePass website for you. And by the way, our next big announcement will be beneficial to these two series too.
Stay tuned, we've got a bunch of good news to announce soon. It's been a good off-season!
