IRA Headlines Friday Night of the Langlade County Fair
It's fair season in Wisconsin, and this Friday night the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) makes its first appearance at a fair in 2017, as the Winged 410 sprint cars headline Friday night of the Langlade County Fair in Antigo, Wisconsin.
Bill Balog has been dominate this season and will likely be many fans pick to win, but half mile tracks seem to be Balog's weakest. To find Balog's last half mile win in IRA competition you have to go back to the July 25th 2014 Langlade County Speedway Race when Balog was victorious over Mike Reinke and Steve Meyer. Meyer has since been able to claim a win of his own at the Langlade County Speedway, winning the 2016 event and should be a contender this Friday night. Meyer has proven to be strong on the big tracks and and will use that skill to try and claim his first win of the 2017 season.
Look for two time IRA champion Scotty Neitzel to be out front at the end as well. Neitzel has countless years of experience, and his orange 2w machine always seems to find its way to the front of the field, especially on the big tracks like Langlade County Speedway and his home track the Dodge County Fairgrounds. Scotty Thiel is another driver fans should keep an eye on. The Scott Thiel Motorsports team has found their groove in the month of July Scoring 2 wins and nearly beating Balog this past Saturday in Beaver Dam.
If the thought of watching winged 410 sprint cars while you eat a funnel cake isn't enough to get you out to the Langlade County Fair this Friday, California hot shoe and son of legendary drag racer Gary Scelzi, Dominic Scelzi has indicated that he intends to bring his Scelzi Enterprises 41 car to Antigo, Wisconsin to have some fun with the stars of the IRA.
