On April 8th the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) will head west to Burlington, Iowa and the 34 Raceway. This will mark the series first visit to the track since 2009, as well as the first visit to the Hawkeye state since 2010. In preparation for this huge event, here is 34 Raceway by the numbers:
3/8th: The length, in miles, of the high banked clay oval
1: The number of times a driver swept the night (Daryn Pittman 2008)
2: The number of IRA Races at 34 Raceway, and number of different winners
5: The time the grandstands will open
6: The time cars will hit the track
7: The number of years since the last IRA race at 34 Raceway
8: The number of different heat race winners
10: The percent chance of precipitation*
12.461: Daryn Pittman’s track record, in seconds
24: The number of cars that will start the feature
30: The number of laps in the feature
57: The number of different drivers who have ran under IRA sanction at 34 Raceway (This number will increase this year as several Knoxville and MOWA regulars are expected)
