SPEEDS TO APPROACH 130MPH AS THE BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA OUTLAW SPRINTS CRANK IT UP AT THE HOSEPOWER HALF-MILE!
July 5, 2016; Appleton, WI – The 900 horsepower machines wheeled by the drivers on the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint tour will have a chance to stretch their legs this Friday evening July 8th at the Dodge County Fairgrounds.
The big half-mile clay oval, with it’s wide sweeping turns will all drivers to test their skills at speeds of up to 130mph. It’s a show not for the feint of heart as the winged warriors are set to begin the second half of their 2016 campaign at one of the fastest tracks on the circuit.
Two dozen 410 outlaw sprints car are expected to participate in the Rick Schmidt Memorial race.
Show will continue to showcase the intense battles that have been seeing throughout the 2016 campaign. Currently Scotty Thiel is heading up the series standings on the strength of three victories for far this season.
Thiel had a breakout performance in mid-June where he swept and entire weekend of action with victories at the Plymouth Dirt Track and Angell Park Speedway.
2013 Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint series rookie of the year Jeremy Schultz is currently sitting second in the standings. Though still seeking his first win the two-time Wilmot Raceway 410 sprint champion has been very consistent this season and is seeking to score his first victory of 2015.
Scotty Neitzel comes into the show third in points and with plenty of momentum after taking a thrilling last lap victory at the final 410 sprint show ever at the Manitowoc Speedway. Neitzel has had some exceptionally strong performances the past several years at the big Dodge County Fairgrounds track.
Seven-time series champion Bill Balog comes into the weekend fourth in points followed by 2012 Rookie of the Year Robbie Pribnow.
In addition to the anticipated two dozen series regulars the Dodge County Fairgrounds events has attracted many surprise sprint car stars.
Last year Dusty Zomer and Rico Abreu had made surprise visits and both came away besting the IRA regulars. The IRA stars are looking to event the score and repel any invaders this season.
Fans have turned out in droves for the past several seasons for the Dodge County Fairgrounds events and those seeking the best seating are encouraged to arrive early to grab the best seats.
The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be joined by the MSA 360 sprints along with IMCA type modifieds to make for a full evening of racing action.
Pit Gates will open at 3:00 pm, spectator gates open 5:00 pm, with warm ups at 6pm with hot laps to follow, qualifying is set for 6:45 pm with racing to follow at the completion of qualifying.
Spectator Admission is $20 for adults, with children ages 6-12 admitted for $5. Children ages 5 and younger are FREE with an adult admission.
The Dodge County Fairgrounds is located on highway 33, just 2 miles east of Beaver Dam and just west of highway 26.
