Trenca Scores First Career Podium Finish During Debut at Big Diamond

Inside Line Promotions – MINERSVILLE, Pa. (June 23, 2015) – Things are clicking for Joe Trenca, who recorded his first career podium finish last Friday during his debut at Big Diamond Speedway.

“We’ve been working really well together and are having a ton of fun,” he said. “We’re getting good starts and drawing well. The car has been fast. We’re still figuring out things to get better, but my confidence is at the highest right now. We’re hoping that a win is right around the corner.”

The United Racing Club began with the Mucci Motorsports driver winning his heat race after starting on the outside of the front row.

“In the heat we started on the outside pole and I knew that’d be the preferred line,” he said. “The track was pretty narrow. If I was going to do it I had to do it on the first lap. I got a good start and led the distance. That put us in a real good position for the feature.”

Trenca then drew the pole position for the main event.

“They did some track prep before the feature, which kind of hurt us,” he said. “The car was a little tight. The track was still wet and we lost the lead early. We reeled him back in and were battling for the lead. He jumped the curb and I pulled alongside of him. We got to traffic and I got into the back of a lapped car, which allowed another guy to get by me.”

Trenca, who led the opening lap, ended with a third-place result. It was his third top five of the season.

Saturday’s event at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., was postponed because of the weather.

Trenca will take this weekend off before a busy week kicks off on July 1 at Brewerton Speedway in Brewerton, N.Y.
