Big Game Motorsports and Gravel Record Second-Place Result in Arkansas

Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (Oct. 29, 2024) – Big Game Motorsports driver David Gravel earned a career-best runner-up result at Riverside International Speedway last Friday.

Gravel was sixth quickest in qualifying before he won a heat race to advance into the dash. A run from fifth to fourth place in the dash lined him up on the outside of the second row in the main event.

“We qualified well and heat raced well,” he said. “We didn’t get the best dash draw. About dash time I had a real understanding that I thought it was going to take rubber.”

Gravel advanced into second place within the first third of the feature and he kept within striking distance of the leader throughout the race before ending with his 43rd top five of the season.

“It was a priority for me to try to get to the front as fast as possible,” he said. “We were able to get to second fairly early. About Lap 10 it started taking rubber. I attempted to go on the outside early in the rubber, but it wasn’t there. So I found myself like, ‘Hey you’ve got to run second tonight.’”

It marked the only race of the weekend as the finale of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader was cancelled because of the weather on Saturday.

The team will have this weekend off before wrapping up the World of Outlaws season Nov. 6-9 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., during the World of Outlaws World Finals. Gravel enters the event with a 74-point lead in the championship standings.
