Kaleb Johnson Excited for Williams Grove Debut This Weekend at Famed National Open

Inside Line Promotions – SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Sept. 30, 2024) – Kaleb Johnson will make his debut at Williams Grove Speedway this weekend during the Weis Markets National Open presented by Sage Fruit.

“I hoped to get some laps under my belt before this weekend, but last Friday’s race was rained out,” he said. “We’re going there with an open mind and eager to learn.”

Johnson and car owner Dennis Gainey ventured to Pennsylvania last weekend to compete, but a pair of races were rained out, including one at the half-mile oval in Mechanicsburg. Next up will be a two-day show this Friday and Saturday featuring the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

“I watched a race there with my dad probably eight years ago, but have never raced it,” Johnson said. “I think it’d be cool to make at least one of the shows. Realistically, knowing the competition and it being my first time racing there, just to get better every time we hit the track and get more comfortable is the goal.”

The event will also mark the end of the season for Johnson, who produced a strong year that was highlighted by a preliminary night victory during the 360 Knoxville Nationals as well as the Huset’s Speedway track championship.

“I’ll try to approach it as any other race, but knowing it’s my final race for a few months I hope we can end on a high note,” he said. “This weekend is about learning and gaining experience as well as having fun along the way.”
