Inside Line Promotions – HARTFORD, Ohio (Sept. 26, 2022) – Robbie Price passed the second-most cars last Saturday during his debut at Sharon Speedway to highlight a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series weekend in Ohio.

The Sides Motorsports driver timed in 20th quickest and placed sixth in a heat race before advancing from fifth to fourth place in the Last Chance Showdown to garner the final transfer into the A Main.

“We were decent at Sharon,” he said. “The last hot lap session I watched everyone was through the center to the middle of the track so that’s where I qualified, but it was up against the wall so we dug ourselves a hole. We were close in the heat race and made it through the LCS.

“I felt pretty good in the feature, but we went down a lap. I didn’t feel bad, but when you go down a lap early you’re just out there and trying not to be in the way of the leaders. It was good to get laps on a track that slick.”

Price rallied from 24th to 17th in the feature.

The weekend began the previous night at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, which hosted the BeFour the Crowns Showdown. Price timed in 12th quickest in his group and finished sixth in both a heat race and the Last Chance Showdown to narrowly miss transferring into the feature. The team used a provisional to tag the back of the field in the A Main.

“We were one spot out of the heat race and in the LCS it took me too long to get going,” he said. “We changed some stuff on the car for the feature. We were snug and I drove around the bottom for a long time. We passed some cars and got up to around 17th. On a restart someone got sideways and I got into them. I ended up just pulling in after that.”

Price had advanced from 25th to 17th before the incident, which relegated him to a 21st-place result.

Next up for the team is the Champion Racing Oil National Open this Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

“I want to do better than I did the last time I was there,” Price said. “I think I was two spots out of a transfer last time so if I can run better earlier in the night than last time I’ll be happy. It’s a track that takes time to get good at so we’re just trying to get better each time we go there.”
