Brian Brown Tackling FVP Platinum Battery Showdown Before Knoxville Season Finale This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – SEDALIA, Mo. (Aug. 25, 2021) – Brian Brown is heading to a pair of marquee races in the Midwest this weekend on the heels of his 28th top-10 finish of the season.

Aug. 22 – Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo. – Heat race: 1 (4); Feature: 8 (6).

“It was good to get back to racing at the state fair on Sunday in August,” Brown said. “It’s always been a cool event. There was a good crowd and it was good to get back there.

“The car was good and we were able to go from fourth to win the heat. We drew the worst number available in the feature redraw so we started sixth. We got a good start on the initial start and went from sixth to the lead, but a yellow came out and they pulled that one back. We were able to get up to second and we were running second when we blew a left rear tire with about four laps to go. We didn’t come back out. I think by me moving around the track when everybody was ripping around the top maybe something down low cut our tire. But we got lucky. It blew in a bad spot entering the corner and could have been worse. We were able to not crash.”

UP NEXT – Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa

“With FVP sponsoring the race and having a bunch of customers and employees at I-80 we know how important those races are,” Brown said. “It’s a track where we’ve had a lot of success. I’m looking forward to getting there and having an opportunity to contend for a top five and hopefully a win.

“We’ve missed two events at Knoxville this season, but we still have potential to win the championship if we go in there and do our job and try to get all of the points. That is exciting.”
