Inside Line Promotions – SARVER, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2020) – The biggest paying winged sprint car race of the season is up next for Jason Sides and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., hosts the 58th annual Champion Racing Oil National Open this Friday and Saturday with the finale paying a stout $75,000 to win.

“It’s good to be heading to a big paying race,” Sides said. “It will also be good to go back to Williams Grove. I enjoy it there, but haven’t had much luck there the last couple of years. Hopefully we can make the show and then go from there.”

Sides competed at three different tracks in three states last weekend with the World of Outlaws. It began on Thursday at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Ind. He qualified 16th quickest and placed fifth in a heat race to lock into the A Main. Sides capped the night by advancing from 20th to 15th.

“The track was choppy early, but got a little slick toward the end,” he said. “Everybody was mostly running around the bottom so we took what we could get.”

The team headed to Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, on Friday. Sides qualified ninth quickest in his group. A fifth-place outing in a heat race lined him up 18th in the main event. He picked up a handful of positions to finish 14th.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Lernerville Speedway, which hosted the Commonwealth Clash. Sides timed in eighth quickest in his group. He placed fourth in a heat race before ending 17th in the A Main.

“Lernerville started out nice,” he said. “The track was wetter than I’d normally seen it. The top was real thin coming off. We chugged around the bottom. We weren’t quite as good as the last time we were there. We could have been a little tighter, but I didn’t want to get it too tight so we were a little off on the setup.”
