Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (July 22, 2019) – Brian Brown produced a top 10 to highlight four World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races at Eldora Speedway last week.
July 17 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 2 (1); Dash: 6 (6); Feature: 9 (6).
“We unloaded really good and had good car speed,” Brown said. “That’s what you hope for when you do your prerace homework. We weren’t as good as we needed to be in the heat, but we made the dash. The dash draws haven’t been good to us this year so hopefully we’ll get some good draws later in the year to even out the scoreboard. The way we look at it is even if you do draw the worst number it gives you another opportunity to learn more by being in the dash. In the feature when the track went from 13.5 to 15.5 seconds and we lost our air speed we had trouble getting into the track. We salvaged a top 10 though.”
July 18 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 10; Heat race: 3 (4); Feature: 22 (14).
“We didn’t qualify as well, but we made it into the main event through the heat race,” Brown said. “We were running in that 12th range and blew a right rear tire and got into the fence. It tore a bunch of stuff up.”
July 19 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 5; Heat race: 1 (2); Dash: 6 (6); Feature: 13 (11).
“Hats off to Chad, Nate and my dad,” Brown said. “We decided to bring a different style of Maxim down for Friday and see if we could make it better. We qualified well, won the heat and drew the worst number in the bucket for the dash. In the feature we didn’t have the speed to pass cars. We could hold our own, but it wasn’t like we were going to drive through the field.”
July 20 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 23; Heat race: 6 (3); B Main: 14 (17).
“Our first lap was good enough for 23rd quick and we blew a tire on our second lap of qualifying,” Brown said. “That set us up in a pretty good spot though starting third in a heat. The guy on the pole didn’t get going well and we were waiting to go. By the time we got to turn one we were running fifth. We weren’t good enough to dig ourselves back out. That buried us in the B Main. We passed a few cars and that was all it wrote for our Kings Royal.”
UP NEXT – Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.; Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa; and Sunday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions
“It’s an awesome weekend,” Brown said. “They are three good tracks for us with the All Stars in town. Jackson is a track we’ve had some success at. We just ran sixth at the Jackson Nationals. We’ve had success at Knoxville all year and Sunday we’re excited to get to 34 Raceway, where we’ve won races.”
