Kraig Kinser Hoping for Dry Weather This Week in Las Vegas for World of Outlaws Races

Inside Line Promotions – BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Feb. 25, 2019) – It’s been a wet start to the season for Kraig Kinser and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
The last three races have been rained out, including shows last Friday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, and Saturday at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas.
Kinser and the Outlaws are hoping to have drier weather when the series visits the desert on Wednesday and Thursday for the FVP Platinum Battery presented by Star Nursery at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas in Las Vegas.
“Going to a track where you’ve had success can be a motivator,” he said. “We’ve been good there in the past and hopefully we can be that way when we unload on Wednesday.”
This year will mark the 11th straight season he has visited the track. Kinser, who was victorious at the half-mile oval in 2005, posted a top-10 finish in 2017, 2012, 2011 and 2009 during that span.
“I know I can win there and you want to have that mindset,” he said. “That’s the confidence we try to bring to a track. The cars have changed a lot since then and our situation has changed since then, but having a win there in the past is a confidence boost.
“The best thing is to get a good qualifying lap in to get you started in the front. If the track gets slick and widens out you can maneuver around. Las Vegas can be racy at times, but the competition is so strong that if the track is narrow it can be tough to get around people and make much progress.”
