Inside Line Promotions – FULTON, N.Y. (Oct. 9, 2018) – Jason Sides took a step in the right direction on Saturday night at Fulton Speedway.

“We qualified well, which is the biggest thing that will impact your night,” he said. “If you can get qualified in a spot where you’re starting on the front row of a heat race then you can compete for a spot in the dash. If you make the dash then you’re guaranteed a great starting spot in the feature.”

Sides opened the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series show by qualifying third quickest overall. He then won a heat race – his first heat win since April 21 – to garner a spot into the dash.

“We haven’t been qualifying very well this year so we haven’t had many opportunities to contend for heat race wins,” he said. “That was a great start to the night.”

Sides then placed third in the dash to line up on the inside of the second row for the A Main.

“It didn’t quite go as planned,” he said. “When we came in from the dash they went on the eight-minute clock to push out for the main event. We ran out of time to get ready and just didn’t tighten up enough. We were decent and running fourth until around Lap 15. From that point on we were getting looser and looser. I couldn’t hardly hold onto it. I hate that we didn’t capitalize on a good night.”

Sides, who ended with a 14th-place finish, has a tripleheader on tap this weekend when he will race on Friday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill.; on Saturday at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind., during the Wabash Clash; and on Sunday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the Last Call for Them All.

“Jacksonville is one of the smaller tracks,” he said. “We’ll go from one of the smallest tracks we run to Terre Haute, which is one of the biggest and a track we haven’t run recently. Then Sunday I was told it will be an afternoon type show. It’ll be a busy weekend, but hopefully the weather cooperates and we can get all three shows in.”
