Inside Line Promotions – LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (May 29, 2018) – Jason Sides is excited to try out a new track this week when the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series makes its debut at Fairbury American Legion Speedway on Wednesday.

The quarter-mile oval will host the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown, which will be the first of three World of Outlaws races this week.

“It’s always fun to go to a new track,” Sides said. “It’s a great way to test yourself and it really levels the playing field for everyone since nobody has any experience there.”

Sides will also compete on Friday at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich., during the Rumble in Michigan and Saturday at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., during the Badger 40. He won a World of Outlaws race at I-96 Speedway in 2011 and holds the track record there.

“We have more experience at I-96 and Wilmot,” he said. “I think I-96 has been my most successful track on this week’s schedule. It’s always an extra confidence boost to go to a track where you’ve won.”

Sides competed in a pair of World of Outlaws races during the last week. He invaded The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., during the Outlaw Showdown last Friday. Sides qualified eighth quickest and placed fifth in a heat race before ending the night with a 19th-place result in the main event.

“We laid down a good qualifying lap, but went backwards a bit in the heat race and the main event,” he said. “The bottom was good for a while in the main, but then it started to go away and the top was the preferred lane. It was really tough to get going back there in traffic the whole race.”

Sides competed on Monday at Lawrenceburg Speedway during the Memorial Day Spectacular presented by KOI Auto Parts. He timed in 28th quickest in qualifying before ending seventh in both a heat race and the Last Chance Showdown.

“It’s all about qualifying,” he said. “You can’t expect to drive up through the field so you have to set yourself up for success with a good qualifying result and we weren’t able to do that.”
